Palm Cove

 4-6 November: Palm Cove

As we are now heading down the East coast, it feels like we are on our way home. This realisation comes with mixed feelings. There is disappointment certainly at travelling down the East Coast when we had planned and so looked forward to the West Coast. The East feels safe, well-trodden & un- adventurous if I'm honest.

We are, however, looking forward to perhaps uncovering some news gems, and spending time in some of our favourite spots. And of course excited to finally pull the surf boards off the rhino racks!

Seeing as we are more than half way through this journey, i have been reflecting on how this trip has impacted and influenced us individually and as a family unit. I asked the family what they felt they would do differently once we settled back home, after being on this adventure.

Tim: more consistent exercise to reduce my expansion.

Luca: turn lights off, look after the planet. Spend more time outside.

Huw: be more adventurous, like climbing higher & jumping off higher things, like the roof into the pool.

Noah: catch barramundi, learn to scuba dive.

Joe: be more aware of my/our environmental footprint. Put health first, do less, live more.

Our time in Palm Cove was awesome. Lots of swimming in the warm ocean (27 degrees), collecting more coconuts from the highest branches, bike riding and enjoying a lovely day for my birthday.

Birthday breakfast at NuNu's, what a location!

Birthday doughnuts  from The Kerr Family!

42 today & thoroughly spoilt!

The boys found a sea snake, luckily already dead.

Huw the coconut man!

Selling coconuts in the caravan park.

Thank you Palm Cove, you've been delightful.
