Fitzroy Island

 November 12: Fitzroy Island

Fitzroy Island is an unspoilt National Park, a tropical paradise of rainforest and beaches within the calm sheltered waters of the Great Barrier Reef.
It is located 45 minutes from Cairns.

We enjoyed a spectacular day on Fitzroy. This was the boys first taste of snorkelling on the reef! We took in the reef firstly via glass bottom boat before exploring from the stunning Nudey Beach.

We then spent some time in the Turtle Rehabilitation Centre learning about Green Sea turtles- the take home message- if you see a turtle floating near the surface, it's sick (not resting or sleeping).
